The 2025 International Balloon Festival in León, Guanajuato

International Balloon Festival 2025 in León, Guanajuato

León is getting ready to fill the skies with color once again with one of Mexico’s most iconic events: the International Balloon Festival (FIG).

If you’re planning to attend the event, you’ll want to know when and where it takes place, and how to get your tickets for FIG 2025. The best way to enjoy it to the fullest is by traveling by car — it gives you the freedom to move at your own pace, make stops along the way, and arrive comfortably to experience all the magic. Don’t have a car? No problem — car rental is the perfect solution!

What is the International Balloon Festival?

The International Balloon Festival is much more than an air show — it’s a cultural, touristic, and musical celebration that turns León, Guanajuato, into Mexico’s hot air balloon capital. Since its first edition in 2002, the FIG has grown every year to become one of the most important balloon festivals in Latin America and one of the top three worldwide.

Every year, León’s sky is filled with color as more than 200 hot air balloons from around the world take flight, many with special designs that delight children and adults alike. Besides the early morning inflations, one of the most anticipated moments is the ‘Magic Night,’ when balloons remain on the ground illuminated to the rhythm of music — a breathtaking visual show.

The fun doesn’t stop in the sky. On the ground, visitors can enjoy concerts by national and international artists, exhibitions, workshops, food and shopping areas, recreation zones, and family spaces.

When is the 2025 International Balloon Festival?

FIG 2025 will take place from November 14 to 17. During these four days, León will host events from early morning to late night, with activities for all audiences.

Where is the 2025 Balloon Festival held?

The official venue for the International Balloon Festival 2025 is the Metropolitan Park of León, located on Prol. Blvd. Adolfo López Mateos, Presa El Palote neighborhood. This space provides the perfect infrastructure to host hundreds of hot air balloons, large crowds, concerts, and food zones.
